* no ads (obviously)
* auto-raid-joining, you don't have to be on to contribute to raids.
* Either free or heavily reduced train and boat rides (killed me to consider)
* a VIP-only layout no one gives a shit about
* the ability to test new features sooner than others
* VIP-only forum
* whatever else I can think of
$3 US for a month. Is that reasonable?

And another forum? Wah, but I loves teh forumz! And wouldn't that mean that it would suck away posters that would otherwise talk in the free forums?
Another one I noticed was earlier beta testing, would that really be a benefit to you or the paying player at all? With bugs and stuff it's better to leave new features to be tested out by all so that way people can find bugs faster and the VIPs won't be getting stressed out by this.
I've seen how those two features can affect a game's members, forum doesn't do too much bad effects, just seperates members and makes it seem like there are social classes. The beta testing thing annoys all members, because one the VIPs get stressed and annoyed and secondly it doesn't help the developer/s, this can also be bad for the non VIPs as things from taunting to unfair gameplay can be a result of this.

It would depend what kinds of new features we're talking. Testing new areas might not work so well, but some crazy new kind of splicing or whatever that does work, but where game balance is questionable, that'd work decently.
As far as VIP only forum goes, I'd check it the same as I do all the others. It wouldn't be like everyone else is "missing out" on anything by not being able to check it, though. Not like somebody's giving out cookies for posts in the VIP forum.
Though, actually, that does make me think of something. Some form of trading would be wonderful and awesome. Then we could have contests through the forums.

CJ: No... not a brand new forum system, just another board for VIPs. The testing-beforehand thing helps in cases where there may be unprofessional things I wouldn't want the whole of MonBre to see, like a syntax error, a typo, or something that should work but simply doesn't. Due to the nature of PHP, typically one person's bug is another person's, so we'd only need a few testers to find the bug.
Rakki: It'd be whole new features, not areas. I wouldn't even say quests.

You could always make it an option to turn off ads for VIPs, personally I know I'd leave them. They're not exactly in the way too much, and there's never been anything questionable or irritating. I mean, the people who are going to pay for VIP are the people who will be playing the most, and taking out the ads for them would cut down on the ad views a huge amount.
I'm sure it's not exactly a huge amount of money lost, and you'd still be making a profit, but then again you could have your cake and eat it, too.
