03/12/2009 07:43 | I just started and a little confused, but that's a good thing. If I can figure out what a game is about in 5 minutes, I don't want to play it! I wasn't able to do much yesterday coz of rl, but today when I get home I'm gonna try it some more. I do think I like what I saw so far though, looks fun.

I'm glad you found some interesting and useful information in the Reference Manual.
You are very enthusiastic, I like that about you.
Anyway, yes it's always a good idea to read the Reference Manual..I implore everyone to as well.
I have to admit, the reference manual is what sorta started the confusion, lol. It's a very different game and will take a little while to get used to, that's all.

03/14/2009 17:56 | I never meant to imply the game is difficult, it's very simple in fact. When I wrote the post I was just following the on screen instructions to say 'hello" on the forums. Since I didn't have the time at the time to read the manual carefully it was confusing.. so I wrote about that, lol.
Anyway, thanks everyone and yes I'm enjoying the game.

This is actually a pretty good amount of people using the introductions forum, it always says somewhere "feel free to drop by the forums!" but hardly anyone ever does. I mean, I didn't at first. But, it is good that people feel like they need to come say hi.

I've actually designed MonBre to cater to the more intelligent people. Notice on the front page "intelligence not required, but recommended". Stupid people look at monbre and go HURR DURF TOO MUCH RULES and go back to playing clone games.

Exactly. If there was a way to trace back the very first game of x type, I'd say I'm tired of Torn City clones and clones of Marcoland and clones of x game type, but for all I know those games were clones of clones anyway.
I honestly quit games the second I login if I see that there's a nerve/bravery/whatever bar, or if there's a races thing that includes race level 1 does x, race level 2, etc. Although come to think of it I don't remember if Marcoland even has races, last time I played that was ages ago. Eternal Duel does though, I know that much. Either way there's still the same two stat set up and occasionally intelligence and spells. Wooo, good times.
