Have you ever wondered how, exactly, people know right where the big bad boss you're hunting is? Down to the exact meter? Doesn't that seem a little... odd to you?

Never fear! Barcature Science has you covered! We've invented, patented, scolded, destroyed, and finally rebuilt just the thing for you!

The Boss-Trac-o-Matic! Remember when you were a kid, and you played Hot/Cold? When you got closer to the object, you were "warmer" and farther away you were "colder." This works the same way! It would tell you when you're getting closer or farther, and if you can find something to give you the big, bad, mob's scent somehow, it could even give you a percentage in the form of degrees! You might be 20 degrees cool of the boss, so you're 80% of the way there! Or maybe you're only 37 degrees warm of it... Keep looking!

Actual implementation may vary, but it would be a cool item to have for future quests. Plus, you could use it to track down other stuff. It'd be slightly similar to the GPS saying like 20 north, 40 south, except it wouldn't be all that exact. It would tell you you're on fire and stuff like that to let you know when you're pretty much right beside the thing.

Sound good? Sound possible?
But when that call never comes, it's time to face what you've become - there's no point doing all of this, unless you know you're having fun.

Quite possible, and I like the hot/cold idea. The thing is, I'd rather implement this for the roaming bosses, because I think it'd just be cooler... and more needed. We could do other landmarks, too, but I think that's what the minimap will be for.

Doesn't matter WHAT it gets used for - it's pretty versatile. In fact, my original idea would work as a roaming boss...

You come into the town, and there's a guy there, and you say hi to him. He's like "Hi, welcome to our town!" You nod, and he says it again. And again. And again. Clearly, there's something wrong with him.

You go and talk to the mayor, and the mayor tells you about a monster that's been stealing people's souls! You, of course, offer to help the poor soulless sap and track down his soul. You hold your tracker thinger near him for a bit, and then it gets his scent kinda deal, and you go off to track down the boss.

Aside from finding bosses, there's always stuff like "find my dog, here is his ribbon sad emoticon" and basically anything else where you have to find a thing. How creative, right?

"Or find the bear that bit off my leg, here's some hair" kinda quest.. I like it, and it will work similary to the GPS but less precise.

You know, I was just thinking that you could make one of the jobs for the employment agency be "Boss Tracker" to help explain that bit of strangeness. Scouting out the big Boss areas. Agility gets raised because occasionally your monster just isn't stealthy enough. Or maybe running around trying get to the the boss made your monster really smelly (exercise can do that) and the boss noticed the monster before it noticed the boss.

You have a special corp of trained monsters and their trainers helping keep track of the big Bosses of the areas. Oddness explained.
