Mine's heavy metal, followed by avant-garde and most certain classical. (particularly modern compositions, like movie scores)

My favorite artists would have to be Luca Turilli, Rhapsody, Unexpect, Tub Ring, and Danny Elfman.

I like metal and R&B. Favorite of each is Bodies by Drowning Pool, and pretty much anything Snoop Dogg makes in R&B.

Rhapsody's great.

But anyway, continuing. I listen to a huge range of stuff, from heavy metal to hardcore punk, but the broadest categories I guess would be power metal, melodic death metal, heavier jrock, hardcore punk, progressive metal, and the odd bit of ska. If we're trying not to be genre nerds, I mean. Which I sorta failed at here.

Hmmm... What counts as nerdcore, exactly? Are we talking screaming and keyboards, or what?

Nerdcore is dope haha.

I just LOVE music in general. The only genre I don't care for too much is Country, but thats only because today's top Country artists keep making the same songs and using the same damn riffs. No one is experimenting anymore in that genre. I do however like Country music pre-90s. Think of the classic songs like "Black Velvet" or "Strawberry Wine" those were huge in their time, they were different than the others.

Oh, nevermind. I was thinking nerdcore as in nerds + hardcore. Not that hardcore isn't full of skinny little twiggy guys anyway.

I don't listen to country or blues, but I dig the lyrics. It's like death metal served with a smile.

Can't say I've ever found a thrash metal band I like, the closest thing I listen to is The Haunted, who are somewhere in between melodic death metal and thrash metal. Nearly got punched out on multiple occasions for saying I don't like Slayer, but dear god, the vocals just kill it for me. Forget what song it was, but I had my mp3 player on shuffle like usual while I had decided to give Slayer a chance, and the intro was a minute and a bit long, and I was like hey this is good, I don't recognize it though, then the vocals started and I was like yeah, next song.

My bad if you're a Slayer fan, but thrash metal vocals just aren't for me :/

Could it have been... Raining BLOOD?

That's entirely possible. I'm sure I know enough of their songs by name, but if at all I've only listened to each song once. I tried to like them, honestly! But it just didn't work for me.

Will it be because I find satanic black metal bland? I didn't mind some of the earlier stuff by a few bands for a while, then I was like yeah, let's delete everything from before this album when they started to not suck...
